Warrior Dash!

Kyle is a warrior! He has gotten so into competitive running, it was time for a fun challenge. He signed up for the 'Warrior Dash' in Portland and loved it! Hailey and I stood by the action and watched him slide down the mud ramp in record time! Ha!

The race is a 5k, with 10-15 pretty tough obstacles on the course, which include trudging through waist deep water and over logs, crawling through a wreck yard of automobiles, climbing rope over a wooden wall barricade, climbing over a rooftop and dropping down, crawling across 50 yards of cargo nets,  leaping over fire (see below), and crawling/swimming through mud under barbed wire to the finish. That isn't an extensive list, but enough to exhaust me just looking at it!

You are suppose to be crawling through mud here, but in Oregon it rains like crazy, so people swam. :)

 So here are our photos from that day!

 The starting line! We didn't realize that fire was going to shoot from the starting sign's posts you see in the backyard. It scared Hailey like I've never seen!!

Hailey got over it, and we went and sat on our picnic chairs for the 38 minutes Kyle was enduring this crazy challenge. 

As usual, it took less time that I thought, and we missed Kyle's finish! We did see the huge mud slide though, and that was hilarious! Here is what the warrior came in looking like...with his medal.

 I still thought he was cute.

 Hailey is a lot like me, especially for a 2-year-old! She wouldn't go near Kyle with all that mud everywhere! She likes things neat, and always asks us to wash her hands whenever they are dirty. 

 There was a pond on our way out, and Kyle jumped in to get whatever mud he could off of him, and not in our car!

After Kyle washed off, Hailey allowed her daddy to take her hand. 

Oh, and Kyle loved it!!!!
